Client: Melanie Alexander from Lost & Found Decor
Business: Antiques Dealer, Blogger, and Content Creator
Service: Pinterest Management Monthly Retainer
Service Period: 1 year+ (ongoing)
The Challenge
“I tried to execute the plan myself for about 90 days, but just couldn’t keep up.”
Melanie Alexander has been running Lost & Found Decor for years — blogging, selling vintage antiques, and building a loyal audience of readers and shoppers who love her unique finds. She is a brilliant writer and creator with a real eye for antiques and vintage items, for which her blogs and videos have been lauded.
She’s been on Pinterest for about eight years, so she was not new to the platform when she came to Matcha. And over those years, she had tried DIY-ing Pinterest multiple times; she’d made her own pins, got a Tailwind account, and put in the hours. But it was always too much to handle with all the other parts of her business and the kind of content creation cadence that Pinterest demands.
A few years back, Melanie even hired help for her Pinterest account, and it didn’t go well; traffic didn’t move, revenue didn’t budge, and at one point, her account even landed in Pinterest jail. Not exactly a confidence booster. So when it came to handing things off again, she was understandably skeptical.
“I had briefly hired help about 6 years ago, and it did not go well. So I was reticent to hire more help.”
She first connected with Matcha through a 1:1 Pinterest strategy session. We put together a customized strategy + framework, and Melanie ran it herself for about 90 days, and she was seeing good results! The strategies worked. But the problem was keeping up with the pace of content creation, over and above managing her website and her store. Eventually, she decided it was time to fully hand it off.
Why Matcha Creative?
She had already tested the strategy. She knew it worked.
This is what made Melanie’s decision a little different from most clients. She didn’t come in hoping Pinterest would work — she already had a bit of proof that it would. The strategy session with Shika & Shyla had given her a clear roadmap, and her 90 days of solo execution had shown her that the direction was right.
“After the strategy session, I felt that Matcha really understood the Pinterest world well and what works there. I tried their strategies myself and saw success — I just couldn’t maintain the pace.”
The Process
Full management, and Pinterest off her plate.
We took over end-to-end Pinterest management for Lost & Found Decor — strategy, fresh pin creation, scheduling, and ongoing optimization. The goal: grow Melanie’s website traffic, bring new people into her world, and build Pinterest into a reliable, passive traffic and revenue driver. And more recently, Matcha has started layering in product pins for her vintage antiques store, a whole new opportunity to drive sales directly from Pinterest.
This was how our process played out
- Built on the strategy they’d already mapped together
We picked up from the groundwork laid in the original strategy session. We knew Melanie’s niche, her content, and what her audience responded to. The strategy was already based on her content flywheel and built to focus on the marketing aspects she wanted to focus on, which were: increased website traffic and ranking on Pinterest for her primary niches – painted furniture and antique sales booth ideas.
- Consistent fresh pin creation at scale
The volume and consistency of fresh pins were exactly what Melanie couldn’t sustain solo. Matcha handled all content creation at the pace Pinterest’s algorithm rewards. Over 5-7 fresh pins a day, detailed keyword research, board optimization, and seasonal planning.

- Ongoing account management and communication
Beyond pinning, we stayed on top of performance, adjusted as needed, and kept communication open. Which is one of the most important and valuable aspects of a monthly Pinterest retainer. A one-off strategy session can give you the path, but having Matcha actually do the work means that the strategy gets adjusted in real-time according to seasons, Pinterest algorithm shifts, and changing priorities within the business.
- Expanding into product pins for the vintage store
As the blog side kept growing, Shika & Shyla started building out a product pin strategy for Lost & Found Decor’s vintage antiques store, bringing Melanie’s shop inventory into the Pinterest ecosystem and opening up a new channel for direct sales. This work is just getting started, and the opportunity is big.
The Results
ROI in month one. Revenue up 25% a year later.
Results came fast, and they kept compounding. Her service cost was covered within the first month from increased ad revenue alone. By month three, she was seeing a 200% return on investment.
- Pinterest referrals grew 58% year over year — peaking at 1.2 million impressions in peak seasonal periods
- Blog revenue is up 25% over the past year, with overall sessions up 27%.
- Her email list keeps growing — lead generators embedded throughout her blog content have continued converting new readers to subscribers consistently throughout the engagement.
- Most importantly, she’s got her time back — with Pinterest running in the background, Melanie is motivated to blog more, experiment in other areas of the business, and has even relaunched her new antiques e-commerce store.
“Within the first month, they had increased my blog revenue enough to cover their cost. By month two I was seeing a 100% return on investment, and month three was 200%.”
The Intangible Results
More revenue and more motivation to keep creating
Numbers aside, something shifted for Melanie once Pinterest started working for her consistently. She’s blogging and posting content more because she’s motivated by the growth she’s seeing. And with more passive revenue coming in from the blog, she has more freedom to experiment: new content, her store relaunch, whatever she wants to try next.
In Melanie’s Words
“I am convinced to continue and have suggested Pinterest to many others in my niche. It’s still working! Doing Pinterest well takes a lot of time, and it’s simple to offload to someone else. Shika & Shyla understand the platform well and what it takes to succeed there.”

Growing the blog, launching the store, and building more with Pinterest.
Melanie continues to work with Matcha Creative as of April 2026. On top of the ongoing website traffic work that’s been compounding for the past year, the team is now building out Pinterest’s role in her vintage antiques store relaunch, using product pins to get her inventory in front of the right people at the right moment.
